FIELD TRIPS:

Our BZC Students will be taken on a field trip to MEDAK FORT every year to collect the medicinal plants present in the fort. The same students make a herbarium and learn their medicinal properties, how they are used to treat any ailment. Students submit the same as a report. This field trip helps students to visually see the locality where the plants grow and understand the medicinal properties very clearly.

HERBARIUM COLLECTION

Every year Semester II and Semester V students of BZC are taken to collect herbarium according to their syllabus in and around the campus. This helps students to learn the diversity of plants, about their family and floral characters. Also students are asked to bring any locally growing plant specimen around their house for the same purpose.

ACHIEVEMENTS:

Head of the Department, K. SHARATH DEEPIKA, has been nominated as Board of Studies member for Department of Botany in Andhra Mahila Sabha, Arts and Science College for Women, Hyderabad. She completed successfully three academic years (2023-2024, 2023-2022, 2022-2021) in being a part to frame the syllabus for the BSc BZC Botany course. 

Many of our students have secured seats in the university for post graduation. Universities like Osmania university, Telangana University, Vanitha Mahavidyalaya, University College for Women, Koti. We are very happy that our students also secured jobs in the teaching field of the private sector. P. Bhagyashree, Teacher in Biology at Siddhartha Model High School. B. Prasanna, Lecturer in Botany at Ellenki Degree College at Narsapur and so on. The list goes on as students are getting settled in various jobs in our field of study.

TSAT NIPUNA CHANNEL LECTURE:

Our student of BZC II YEAR M.Deepika has given live lecture at TSAT NIPUNA CHANNEL in the year 2019-2020 in the topic Marchantia Gemma cups and won cash prize of rupees 4000/-.
