ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:

The Department of Botany is one the best departments among the various departments of the college. It was established in the year 2017. The present laboratory of the department is very spacious and can accommodate 30 students in a batch. The main thrust areas of teaching are Plant Pathology, Plant Physiology, Cytogenetics & Plant Breeding, Environmental Botany, Plant Biotechnology, Systematic Botany and Allelopathy. Presently, teaching activities include under-graduate semester courses. The department has made steady progress in all these areas. At present 02 teaching staff and 01 non teaching staff are working under this department. The department has also organized Seminar/Symposium/Conference/Summer school. The department has distinction in having its alumni placed at various respectable positions all over the state. The departmental library has a significant number of books and periodicals and subscribe journals. The department strictly follows the syllabus of Osmania University. 

VISION:

Attempt is to prepare students for lifelong learning by drawing attention to the vast world of knowledge of plants and introducing the methodology of systematic academic inquiry. With this in mind, we aim to provide a firm foundation in every aspect of Botany and to explain a broad spectrum of modern trends in Botany.

• To impart knowledge of science as the basic objective of education.  
• To develop a scientific attitude to make students open minded, critical and curious.  
• To expose themselves to the diversity amongst life forms.  
• To make aware of natural resources and the environment and the importance of conversing with them.  
• To develop the ability for the application of acquired knowledge in the fields of life so as to make our country self-reliant and self sufficient

•  I YEAR:  Learning microbial diversity of lower plants and knowing the exact position of organism in the plant kingdom.
• II YEAR  Learning Taxonomy of Plant kingdom, diversity of plants in monocots and dicot.
• III YEAR : Learning Conservation of Biodiversity and Tissue culture laboratory techniques.
