INTRODUCTION

The Department of ZOOLOGY  was started in 2017 with the B.Sc  BZC course the department organizes zoological excursion & study tours at different places for studying living animals, their behaviour & visited different local institutions (as per MOU).Field work experiences at field and institutes. The faculty is always available to guide & council the students & remain friendly and accessible. Special coaching for different entrance examinations after graduation. Departmental library is also available with reference books. The department of zoology has one well equipped laboratory for students.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

• The Department aims to provide a broad multidisciplinary course in ZOOLOGY.
• To train students in a wide range of science based skils that provide the learning base for future careers in disciplines such as health science, Agricultue ,Environmental management ,the emerging biotechnology, publishing ,teaching ,research &management.
• To achieve excellence in teaching, research & extension education in the field of zoology.
• To offer a modular course of lecturers & associated seminars, research project &practical classes supported by supervisions where appropriate.
• To promote training in practical & conceptual skills in sub-disciplines ranging from molecular cell biology through physiology &Endocrinology to the study of populations in both an Ecological & Evolutionary frame work.
• To provide constructive feed back on their progress individual students will be assessed throughout the year in their project works ,participation in seminars & written work for supervisions.
• To provide professional training in effective verbal &written communication skills.
• To promote students for self employment through Aquaculture, Sericulture, Apiculture, bio-fertilizers & vermin culture.
• To produce globally competitive graduates & post graduates in Zoology.

STRENGTH, WEAKNESS, OPPORTUNITIES & CONSTRAINTS

STRENGTHS: Efficient, sincere & hard working team of faculty members, many of whom have talents other than teaching.  Teachers with high qualifications and more experiance. And having a well equipped laboratory

WEAKNESS: Faculty has less experiance in research work.

   OPPORTUNITIES: Students are very hard working & sincere, so that the department can have better meritorious achievements with the talent of students.  Enhancement of students personality development, infrastructural facilities, quality education can be carried out by teachers. Department has been providing facilities for better future of students like pg entrance coaching of state level , central level and other job  oriented coachings.

CHALLENGES: To promote hard work & uplift the scholastic capacities of students through appropriate motivation is a major challenge. To cultivate research aptitude among them.
