The field visit or field trip is an educational procedure by which each student gain or learn information by observing the objects, places, natural events and other real-life information. The main objective of the field visit is to reinforce experiential and contextual learning.

Field trips also provide students the opportunity to take a break from their normal routine and experience more hands-on learning to realise the past scenario of any historical situation and to relate the subject matter in present day context to understand the significance of the past event.
