Computer science is the study of computation, information, and automation. Computer science spans theoretical disciplines to applied disciplines.

The subject kept many students at the top of their lives and as successful persons.

The Department of Computer Science of Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential College (G), Kothagudem was established in 2017 with B.Sc-MPCS & B.Com (Computer Science).

This department always strives hard for academic excellence. As a part of its academic plan, it invites eminent faculty from different places to give extensive knowledge in selected topics.

The Computer Science Department creates a stimulating environment for the academic growth of its students. The faculty members are known for their expertise in Software organization behavior and impart practical knowledge on the subjects. Talks, paper & computer presentation, field trips are organized regularly to enhance the skills of the students.

Aims and Objectives of the Computer Science Department

      In order to fulfill its stated vision, mission and motto the college is committed to:
     Academic excellence: Prime objective of the Computer Science Department is to enable each and every student to face the all kind of challenges with national and global level through effective teaching and learning process of the curricular  and co-curricular aspects.

    Professional Excellence: The College motivates molds and prepares the students for positions of leadership  in Software Industry at the local, national and international levels. The capacity building of our graduates to assume productive roles are emphasized during their stay in the college and to inculcate the habit of lifelong learning. The ultimate objective is to produce Computer Science graduates who possess the skills, problem solving tools and professionalism essential for being successful.

     Holistic Development: Provides platform to the students of searching their hidden talent and utilize it to face the global challenges.

     Adoption and Promotion of Knowledge: To achieve innovations in teaching-learning, research and extension activities to realize national goals, including the adoption and promotion of knowledge output for human development.

• To provide Programming knowledge to students.
• To train the students to have knowledge and skills on Hardware and Software.
• To coach the students to have knowledge on different programming languages like C, C++, JAVA, PYTHON etc.,
• To train the students according to the demands of the society and to bring out innate potentialities of the students.
• To Promote the Scientific and Educational activities towards the advancement of technology.
• To train students in a wide range of Computer Programming based skills that provide the learning base for future careers in disciplines based on emerging technologies in both Computer Science and Information Technology.
• To provide a High Quality Education, this prepares students for further study and research in Computer Science and Technology.

 Strengths:

• Representing 1/4^th of the student strength of the college
• Getting Good Academic Result.
• Active participation of Staff & students in all the activities of the institution

 Weaknesses:

• Some of the students were dropouts because of early marriages and early pregnancies.

 Opportunities:

• As all students belongs to Computer Science and Computer Applications background we encourage students in Software Industry Jobs like Software Engineer, Software Developer, Web Developer & Data Scientist etc.,
• The Computer Science and Computer Application students in this department are encouraged to write the competitive exams like banking sector, SSC, RRC and the technical support for this is provided by Telangana academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) of this college.
• We department of Computer Science staff encouraging the students of all departments and providing the certificate courses like IEDP, TASK 360 Digit, T-WALLET awareness, IPR and  R Programming with the help of Telangana academy for Skill and Knowledge(TASK).
• All the students are informed the job notifications through departmental notice board, Career Guidance Cell (CGC) and Assembly for which they are eligible to apply.
• Department staffs were encouraging the students for which TTWREIS providing various Computer Courses to Women students for developing practical knowledge about some of the courses like DATA SCIENCE, MATLAB, FILM MAKING, and SCREEN ACTING COURSES.
• We department staff also providing lab facility for students who registered for free Online course like Swayam and MOOCS for listening the classes and doing assignments to get certificates.
• As the college is situated in the Kothagudem, nearer industries like both public and private like KTPS, SCCL, Nava Bharath Ferro Alloys Ltd, the students of B.Com (CA) and B.Sc-MPCS may get more job opportunities and get motivated to work in the above industries.

  Challenges:

• Generation of resources for up gradation of infrastructure.
• Computer science is a rapidly evolving field that presents numerous challenges for researchers, professionals, and students alike. From the need to constantly update skills and knowledge to the increasing complexity of systems and algorithms, there are many challenges that those in the field of computer science must face.
• One of the biggest challenges in Computer Science is the need to constantly update skills and knowledge. The field is constantly changing, with new technologies and techniques emerging all the time. This means that those in the field must be willing to continuously learn and adapt in order to stay current and competitive.
