ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:

The Department of History is as TTWRDC girls Kothagudem itself it organized in 2018 along with the college as a constituent part of it. It offered students social with a contribution of HEP Group [History –Economics-Political Science] in the arts faculty

The Department has 25Hours work load with one sanction post and it continues to be still date Besides EHP group(E/M) Department of History offers, H.E.P (E/M) Courses to a strength of students 90%students belong to rural poor socially and economically backward classes.

The Department of History has evolved over all three years based on concentrated efforts of the members of the staff, focusing on the Indian history with special references to the regional perfections. The course is designed to offer students a broad view of the world history as well as specialization in the history of Telangana with specific emphasis on its cultural and socio- economic conditions.

From 2014 – 2016 annual system was stated and from 2016 June on wards academic SEM system started in EHP courses.

From 2018 CBCS was introduced in the college. The department is providing all necessary facilities. The department library has two titles and the college library has adequate number of books. It is maintaining relevant paper clipping records.

The department has regular connections with Kakatiya University Warangal. K.U. and all Govt. Degree College in the District, students are participating in the NCC, NSS Games, Sports, Library, Cultural Programs, Swatch Bharath, Haritha haram, PG Entrance is being given in summer and as many as 06 Students were selected for university education in the last 5 years.

IMPORTANCE OF HISTORY:

History is the study of past. History well told is beautiful. It is important for us to study history because we need to study history to understand to change and to know about how the society, we live in came to existence. To know: It is important for us to know about our past. How the countries, oceans, mountains, rivers, valleys, plains are formed. To know about how we evolved. To learn: History is the record of the past events. We can learn from the mistakes that we have done. By analyzing the mistakes, we can avoid it in the future. We can such cruel acts in the future.
