About the Department of  History

The Department of History involved in research and teaching. Members of the faculty are renowned as thinkers and contributors to the discipline of History and as specialists in their respective domains of research.

A Bachelor of Arts (BA) program in History, Economics, and Political Science typically combines courses from these three disciplines, providing students with a broad understanding of historical, economic, and political developments. It offers a multidisciplinary approach, allowing students to explore the interconnectedness of these fields. BA in History, Economics, and Political Science fosters critical thinking, global awareness, and versatile skills, preparing graduates for diverse careers and informed citizenship.

Vision

The History Department aims to make the students aware of the past and its legacies through teaching, research and extension activities in Indian history in the context of world history.  We believe that only a critical understanding of the past will enable the students to understand the present and help them look towards the future.

Mission

  • To uplift the downtrodden poor Rural Students to develop in-depth Past, modern and contemporary knowledge to meet global challenges of Telangana History, Indian History  and World History
  • Transform the students into citizens who are critically informed about the past and its consequences for the present
  • Promote studies in history, society and culture of Telangana History, Indian History  and World History
  • Empower students to cope with the challenges of globalization by instilling in them a life-long passion for learning about the past. The knowledge about the interconnections between the global, national, regional and local history will equip the students to face the challenges with confidence.
