Academics - ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES

Digital Classes

To keep up the students best with the latest educational practices with a student- friendly environment, Gurukulam has introduced digital classes as part of  virtual learning.

Flipped Classes

Flipped classroom is the part of Blended learning practice in the institutions where students learn new content outside the class and practice them in the classrooms. The aim of this classroom is to inculcate critical thinking and self-learning among the students. As it makes the shift away from traditional instruction, the students are exposed to experimential learning which is the new norm in the world of information.

Field Trips

Field trip has been introduced by Gurukulam to reinforce experimental and Contextual Learning. These are the way of enhancing classroom learning by making real world connection. Field trips expose the students to different life styles, places, people and culture. They provide great way to bring excitement and adventure to learning.

Seminars

Seminars constitute a major avenue of exchange of ideas as well as gaining a better insight into the subject. It has numerous benefits including improving communication skills, gaining expert knowledge, networking with others and renewing motivation and confidence.

Library

"Libraries store the energy that fuels the imagination. They open up windows to the world and inspire us to explore and achieve, and contribute to improving our quality of life."  Sidney Sheldon  (1917-2007. American writer and producer)

Library is a powerhouse store to gain knowledge and information about everything under the sky. Library is an integral part of the Institution and involve sin the evolution of every human being associated with it.

Students use libraries to enhance their classroom experiences. Libraries help the students to develop good reading and study habits.

An exclusive user-friendly and comfort oriented infrastructure, modern furniture and reprographic conveniences. There are separate enclaves for individual and group study. Students and staff can avail the library from 7.30 AM to 10.00 PM everyday and refer to a wide variety of resources.

Library in every college stocks more than 7000  varieties  of books that includes text books, reference books, NCERT books etc . Along with those books our libraries also contain number of books  for competitive exams like  UPSC, IES, BANKING, GROUPS etc.

Every library subscribes more than 10 different types of monthly magzines like YOJANA, KURUKSHETRA, WINSPIRE PRATHIYOGITHA DHARPAN, etc..

In addition to the academic collections, there are no.of fiction and non-fiction books encouraging students' outside reading interests .

The Libraries not just holds stack of books but also holds various events to improve the book reading habit amongst young students in the digital era such as Book exhibitions, Manuscript and Readathon.

Computer Education:

Computer with the internet facility is the most powerful tool that students can use to learn new skills and more advanced version of current lessons. It helps the student to draw the creativity and explore imagination and to develop their skills. Apart from regular schedule students can access this facility to make utmost use of it.

Remedial Classes

Remedial instructions can help slow learners to shore up their basic skills. This extra support can help them to  reach to their peers.

Gurukulam has introduced remedial classes by faculty for future learners as an effective approach in which they revise list of important concepts and  score of remedial tests will be conducted and recorded for each students and they were reinstructed for further improvement.

Quartet Group

To bridge the gap between future learners and advanced learners each class is divided into no. of quartet groups consisting of an advanced learner, an average learner, an above average and a future learner. This is an effective tool to support focused reflection, helps the teachers to give individual attention and strengthens collaborative learning.

Project Work

Project based learning is a teaching where students gain knowledge and skills by working for an extended period of time to investigate and respond to an authentic, engaging a complex question, problem or challenge. It allows students to demonstrate her/his capabilities while working independently and to apply desired skills such as doing research. It helps students to work with her/his peers, building team work and group skills. At Gurukulam level every year, competition on project works based on problem solving is conducted  and the best project is awarded.
