NCC is a volantary organisationadmisnistered through the Ministri of Defence. Defence Misnistar is overall in charge and resphorespncible to the Government of India for afficient functioning of NCC

NCC Headquearters is situated in New Delhi, headed bya an officer of the rank - Lieuftenant General.

There are 17 Directorates located in the state Capitals headed by an officer of the rank - Major General/Brigadier or equivalent from the three Servieces.

Accoding to the size and growth of NCC in the state, Directorates have up to 14 Group Headquarters under them. Each group headed by an officer of the rank - Bringdier/ Colonel or equivalent known as Group Commander.

Each NCC Group Headquarters controls 5-7 NCC units / battalion, commanded by Colonel/Lieuternat Colonel or equivalent.

Each battalion consists of Companies commanded by the Associate NCC Officers (ANO) of the rank Lieutenant, Captan or Major.

There are two Traning Academies - 1. Officers Training Academy, Kamptee for men 

                                                              2. Officers Training Academy, Gwalior for ladies.
