Language is our primary source of communication. It is the method through which we share our ideas and thoughts with others. English is one such language that not only helps in communication but acts as the gateway to the world of opportunities. English is the official language of 53 countries and is spoken by around 400 million people across the globe. There are several factors that make the English Language essential. English has been considered to be the first global Lingua Franca. In today's modern world the English language has become part and parcel of every existing field. English has been the international language of communication, business, Aviation, Computers, Science and Technology, tourism, and so on. Moreover, the ocean of career opportunities is opened to those people who are fluent in English.

Brief History of College:

Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential Degree College has been one among 22 Tribal Welfare Residential Degree colleges which have been established in the State of Telangana under the aegis of TTWREIS, Tribal Welfare, Gurukulam as part of the KG to PG free Education policy of the Government of Telangana during the academic year 2016/17. Tribal welfare was launched to cater the higher educational needs of the students of under privileged and unprivileged sections of the society and to enhance their confidence levels acquiring the highest level of academic excellence coupled with excellent communication skills and the other interpersonal skills to transform themselves into the best citizens of the Nation.

Department Profile:

The language of English has assumed trans cultural and trans national importance in today’s world in the backdrop of globalization for all kinds of communication and business transaction. It is with this view in mind the Department of English strives to impart the best possible ways of communication skills to the students to enable them to be self-confident and self-reliant.

    The Department of English started functioning from 2017 in TTWR Degree College(Boys), Manuguru, Bhadradri Kothagudem(Dist) imparting general English for the Degree Courses in as per the guidelines of the Kakatiya University.  Six lecturers have rendered their services here so far during the last decade.

Department of English was established in 2017. Since its inception, the Department was recognized for teaching in the various areas of English. A well-balanced curriculum having theory and qualified faculty has been the hall mark of this Department since its inception. The Department offers an undergraduate subject which is in affiliation with Kakatiya University, Warangal.

The Department has also implemented the Choice- based Credit System for grading all the students since the year 2019-20, which offers flexibility in the structuring and assessment of courses.

Highlights of the department:

1. The department has One Regular Faculty.
2. In addition to the regular teaching aids, ICT tools (Website, You Tube channels and PPT bank) are used regularly in teaching learning process.
3. Department has a departmental library with more than 100 novels, textbooks, reference books, question banks, study materials, previous question papers etc., which are kept for student’s usage.
4. Department organizes English learning activities through E+ club.
5. Department uses various student centric methods such asStudy projects, assignments, Student seminars, PPT preparation, quiz and group discussions
