Importance:
Science and Technology play a very important role in the nation-building process. And STEM club is where all the ignited minds of science and technology gather and explore so that they can contribute to a major development of the nation and the world.
Objective:
To extend one's understanding of science and technology so that we help in shaping better citizens for tomorrow. Gaining inspiration from many and in turn inspiring others, the STEM club is to awaken the minds of young scientists.
Programmes:
SOLAR YATRA
In association with NGO ‘Hamari Mitthi’, Department of Physics has organized an expert talk on “Energy and Climate change” by Prof. Chetan Singh Solanki, IIT Bombay, the ‘Solar Man of India’, on 22-02-2022.
Porf. Solanki is the founder of Energy Swaraj Foundation. As a part of Energy Swaraj Yatra, Prof. Solanki visited TGTWRDC (M), Kamareddy to give an insight on prospects of Solar Energy and to demonstrate the Solar bus designed by him.
The expert talk was followed by a meeting honoured by the District Collector and SP of Kamareddy at the premises of Hamari Mitthi NGO.
After the meeting, the students were demonstrated the working and applications of solar panels of household appliances.
Students learnt about energy crisis and the need to switch to renewable energy sources like solar energy.
From learning to sharing knowledge, all the science groups have contributed immensely.
A Science Fair 'IQUTE' was organized on 28th Feb 2020, as a part of National Science Day celebrations which is celebrated in commemoration of Sir C. V. Raman. Many exhibits have been presented by various science streams.
