DEPARTMENTAL PROFILE:

    The Department of Botany started functioning from 2017 in TTWR Degree College (Boys), Maripeda, Mahabubabad, imparting Botany for the Degree Courses as per the guidelines of the Kakatiya University. Two lecturers have rendered their services here so far during the last six years.

The Department of Botany was established in 2017. Since its inception, the Department has been recognized for teaching in the various areas of Botany. A well-balanced curriculum having theory and practical and qualified faculty has been the hallmark of this Department since its inception. The Department offers an undergraduate program which is in affiliation with Kakatiya University, Warangal.

The Department has also implemented the New Choice- based Credit System for grading B. Sc students since the year 2019-20, which offers flexibility in the structuring and assessment of courses.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DEPARTMENT:

• The department has one  regular faculty and one guest faculty.
•  In addition to the regular teaching aids, ICT tools (Website, YouTube channels and PPT bank) are used regularly in the teaching learning process.
• Department has a departmental library with more than 100 textbooks, reference books, question banks, study materials, bridge course material, PG Entrance material, practical materials, previous question papers  etc., which are kept for student’s usage.
• Department conduct certificates courses every year to enhance the skills of the students  

Department uses various student centric methods such as field trips, Study projects, assignments, Student seminars, PPT preparation, quizzes and group discussions.
