- Economics is the Queen of Social Sciences
- The Department of Economics was started functioning in the year 2017 with B.A program in Economics.
- The department offers a regular full time six semester UG programs in Economics.
- Annual/semester/choice base credit system [program wise.
- The department maintains an effective tutorial system to foster healthy relationship among teachers and students.
- The department has a long tradition of imparting quality of education.
- The thrust areas include the various Fields of Micro and Macro Economics, Development Economics, Financial Economics, Economic Growth, International Economics, Agricultural Economics, Indian Economy and Statistics for Economics.

MISSION
- The mission of the department is to provide quality education in Economics and financial economy to future leaders of Industry, Government and Civil Society.
- To prepare students for acquiring applied knowledge of Economics to enhance their employability and entrepreneurship.
- To create better opportunities for students of Economics.
OBJECTIVES OF DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS
- To initiate the students into the acquisition of and application of diverse economic theories.
- To empower the students with critical, analytical and creative use of theory to understand the socio-economic environment and approach the contemporary problems with better solution.
- To provide awareness of economic entrepreneurial and social conditions which will facilitate understanding of economic issues leading to policy making
- To equip students with skill and knowledge in the use of the economic theory and practice in the ever evolving job market.
